ACC Kentucky Sponsors Expungement Clinic

On Sept. 27, in honor of ACC’s Community Service Month, ACC Kentucky sponsored an expungement clinic with Goodwill Industries and the Legal Aid Society. More than 35 volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and legal department staff spent the morning screening criminal records and preparing expungement petitions for more than 115 clients from the community.

For many people, a history with a criminal charge or conviction can stand in the way of employment, housing, or other economic advancement. The volunteers were trained earlier in the week and showed up to make a difference in the lives of these clients. ACC Kentucky received recognition as a 2019 Outstanding Volunteer from the Legal Aid Society for this event.
